Sunny Days!

We've been having wonderful weather the last couple of days, so today we headed down to Chrissy Field and the little beach right on the Bay. It was a bit too sunny for the kids, especially A, so we took shelter under the big shady trees just back from the beach. We had a great picnic with some friends and just enjoyed the weather! Oh, and A was clapping like crazy - it's her latest trick, along with standing up!

Mother's Day Weekend!

Last week we had Stephen's parents in town. On Saturday we had pictures done in the afternoon (more on those when we get them!), then Z had a friend over for most of the evening (aka we babysat for our friends). Then on Sunday it was Mother's Day - so a double one with Mum and Grandma in town - as well as it being A's first Mother's Day. Mum and Grandma took Z to gymnastics in the morning, then we had presents - a wonderful card and drawing from Z, and a painting and 'Mom' photo from A. We then headed out for lunch to Delfina at California and Fillmore, and ate out front, as the day was so nice. It was so nice, that we headed up to the park for about an hour as well. In the afternoon some friends came by with flowers, wine and cake - especially for Mother's Day - so that was a nice way to top off a great weekend.

Visit from the Grandparents

Stephen's parents arrived on Thursday for a week and a half visit to SF. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days - Z wrote and spelt the whole welcome message all on his own (he doesn't want any help with spelling these days!). Here are some photos.

Wine Country

Last Sunday we headed up to Sonoma with some friends. We picnicked at Benziger Winery and went on the wine tour, then headed across to Train Town. It ended up being a good combination, in the right order...with the adults being taken care of first, then off to some kids fun. Z and A had a ball!

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has finally arrived in San Francisco, which means we've been able to get out a lot more with the kids and enjoy some fantastic sunshine! Earlier this week we had a great time at the park, and then today it reached 26c, so we headed down to Chrissy Field to spend some time at the 'beach'!

Happy Easter!

Z was absolutely thrilled that the Easter Bunny made it to our house last night. He woke up and bounded through the house to get us all out of bed to have a look. Needless to say Z's been on a sugar high all day. A is just excited about the balloons! Here's a photo from this morning's excitement.

We're all going to the zoo today

We've been meaning to get back to the zoo for a while, especially now that A is a little bigger. The weather's been pretty good the last few days as well. Though when we got down to the zoo it was awfully windy, so it ended up being jackets weather (probably on account it's right next to the ocean, so we were getting all that breeze). Anyway, A got a good look at the giraffes, including the new baby giraffe that was in the giraffe house. We got the usual takeout sandwiches from Picnix - which are always fabulous. But just as we were finishing up lunch we noticed the redness on Z's face had started to form into blisters. After a benadryl, we decided to push on and go to the carousel. As we were waiting, Z put his hands up on the railing and they were all red and blistered too. It's the first time he's ever had his hands react so badly...so off to the emergency we went. By the time we saw the doctor the benadryl seemed to have kicked in, so it's still a mystery exactly what caused the reaction. It doesn't seem to be something he ate, so it looks like it was something he touched or something in the air...so it's off to the allergist again this week to see if we can solve the mystery. Here's a couple of photos from the zoo. In the picture of Z on the carousel you can actually see how red his hand was getting - and that was the good side...
